Sugar Hill gives quiet, peace, recreation and shelter to Edmond’s homeowners today, as it did for the buffalo and the area’s early arrivals of the past.
Before settlement, Indians hunted buffalo here. The buffalo rolled in the dirt and mud for grooming and insect control, creating still-visible wallows at Sugar Hill. The Cross Timbers covers this area, uncleared since before settlement in the early 1900s.
